SUMMARY
The remains of a Roman house, with an earlier Hellenistic building phase, have been discovered on the western slope of Mt. Pion (Panayır Dağ) above the theatre. The site of the residence, with unobstructed views to the harbor and the city and the luxury of its construction, with mosaics and murals, have lead to the conclusion that its residents belonged to the higher echelons of the local society of Ephesus. |
