kerkides (lat. cunei)
A wedge-shaped section of seats between two stepped passageways in an greek and roman theaters.

orthostate
A course of blocks laid on edge, normally in the lower part of the wall of a building.

peristyle
A colonnade surrounding a building or a courtyard .

pseudo-isodomic masonry
