The Greek Hospital of Smyrna ‘St Charalambos’ was the first infirmary- charitable foundation established by the Greek Orthodox community of the city. It was established in 1723 and became one of the most important hospitals of the city until the catastrophe of Asia Minor. |

The New Ephesus Hospital was founded in the mid 18th century in Kuҫadasi with monetary donations by influential members of the Greek Orthodox community. Its administration was taken on by a special committee. It was renovated in the mid 19th century and functioned for the entire period of the existence of the community. |
