Lacaedemonian admiral and statesman. Supporter of the conservative party of Sparta. Representative of the Spartans in the negotiations between the Greeks and Persians in Sardis. Being an admiral in 386 BC, he successfulyl blockaded the Athenian fleet in the Hellespont and forced the Athenians to accept the King’s peace.
